Mahalo for participating in this Cultural Heritage Stewardship Sector Survey Ward Research is conducting on behalf of the Kaliʻuokapaʻakai Collective with funding from Kamehameha Schools, and organizational supporters listed below:

• Office of Native Hawaiian Relations,

• Kamakakūokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies,
• Kamehameha Schools ʻĀina Ulu,
• University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, and,
• Historic Hawaiʻi Foundation

In this survey, the “Cultural Heritage Stewardship” sector is defined as stakeholders across a variety of fields and disciplines who are involved in and/or impact the stewardship and protection of Hawaiian cultural resources.

The survey’s primary purpose is to anonymously gather information and perspectives from the Cultural Heritage Stewardship sector for an analysis. Our goal is to generate a better understanding of: current and future directions; educational and employment opportunities; challenges, successes, and best practices; and, the potential for collaboration amongst stakeholders within the sector.

Information shared will be integrated anonymously into a formal report which will:

• Inform sector-wide strategies to enhance collaboration and growth,
• Collate opportunities for students and young professionals to participate in workforce pipelines, internships, and professional development, and,
• Inform initiatives supporting the development of ethics, standards, and best practices in the Cultural Heritage Stewardship sector.

This survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. All data will be stored on secure, password-protected drives that only the Ward Research team has access to.
